Founded in 1948, the Virginia Petroleum, Convenience and Grocery Association ( VPCGA ) is a non-profit, statewide trade association representing the petroleum and food industries. Our membership represents "Main Street not Wall Street" and includes approximately 650 retail members operating over 4, 500 convenience and grocery stores from Pennington Gap to Chincoteague. These members employ more than 55, 000 Virginians. Membership includes petroleum marketers, convenience stores, travel centers, chain and independent supermarkets. VPCGA neighborhood businesses are close to the Virginia families they serve, furnishing them with the necessary commodities of food and gasoline on a weekly basis. Members of the association provide oil heat to more than 400, 000 homes and businesses across the commonwealth. Additionally we literally fuel Virginia's economy by supplying petroleum products to our armed forces, municipalities, mass transit, and thousands of truckers, farmers, watermen and contractors across Virginia. Membership also includes over 200 associate member companies who supply goods and services to the industry.
