History
Tim Zelch, DPT, Dip MDT, COMT, CMTPT received his BS in Rehabilitation Science and then his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Pittsburgh. His interests are in outpatient orthopedics, in particular spine pathology. In his postdoctoral training he obtained certifications in McKenzie's Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment (Cert MDT), Maitland's Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT), MyoPain's Certified Myofascial Trigger Point Therapist (CMTPT). To further his expertise with spine and extremities he completed the McKenzie Institute International Diploma MDT (Dip MDT) program through the University of Dundee Scotland. Worldwide there are fewer than 500 Physical Therapist that have accomplished this level of training and he is the only one in the state of Maryland. As a leader in the profession he organizes and leads monthly study group meetings for Maryland, Virginia, and DC Physical Therapists, Chiropractors, and Physicians.

He is an expert in back, neck, and nerve related injuries such as pinched nerves, disc bulges, disc herniation, shoulder blade pain, stenosis, SI joint pain, facet arthropathy and more. He believes in an interdisciplinary approach and will closely work with your Physician or fast track patients to the best Specialist Physician when necessary. Outside of these problems he routinely manages extremity pain including hips, knees, shoulders, elbows, ankles, feet, wrists and hands. He utilizes an evidence based approach to develop customized movement, posture, and exercise programs.
