I became interested in hypnosis when I took an Art Therapy course in college and the professor performed a guided meditation (hypnosis) for the class. I was struck by the power of the experience, and my love of hypnosis was born. I received my B.A. in psychology in 1994, with the intention of pursuing my PhD, but I discovered how long talk therapy takes, and that some people are never helped with conventional therapy. There was a disconnect there that I had to understand. That guided meditation experience eventually drove me to get certified in hypnosis. During the first hour of my first hypnosis class it became abundantly clear what the disconnect was...talk therapy relies on what the conscious part of the mind is ready to reveal.
