Eastern Isotopes, founded in 1993, is located in Sterling, Va., and produces nuclear medicine products. The company was acquired by IBA Molecular and operates as its wholly owned subsidiary. It is a global radiopharmaceutical company offering cyclotron solutions to detect cancers and heart and neurological diseases. It also offers sterilization and ionization solutions for hygiene and safety of medical devices, pasteurization of food products and improvement of the properties of polymers. It distributes various Positron Emission Tomography and therapeutic radionuclides, such as iodine-124, zirconium-89 and astatine-211. It also offers dosimetry products used in hospitals for quality assurance in X-ray diagnosis and for patient-dose monitoring. It carries out research services in collaboration with the Cornell University in New York, Virginia Commonwealth University and University of California San Diego.
