Richlands Middle School meets the social, emotional, physical, aesthetic and academic needs of students. It serves more than 650 students in grades six, seven and eight. The school has over 45 faculty members and nearly 30 instructional assistants and support personnel. Its core curriculum includes English, math, science, social studies and physical education. The school also offers exploratory and elective courses in art, technology education, keyboarding, computer applications and Spanish. Its media center houses a range of reference materials, fiction and nonficiton books, DVDs, magazines, audiovisual equipment, newspapers and networked computers. The school also has more than five computer laboratories. Its sports programs feature basketball, volleyball, track, cheerleading, soccer, softball and baseball.
