The Department of Radiation Oncology is a part of the VCU Massey Cancer Center, which has been recognized by the National Cancer Institute and is operated by the VCU Health System. The Department of Radiation Oncology utilizes advanced techniques for providing therapeutic irradiation for the treatment of malignant diseases and other benign conditions. It offers oncology care to patients, as well as training opportunities in the clinical and research aspects of radiation oncology to physicians. The department has expertise in providing radiation oncology services for the treatment of head, neck, pediatric, gynecological, breast, skin, pulmonary gastrointestinal and center nervous system cancers. The Department of Radiation Oncology also offers 3-D modulated radio therapy, stereotactic radiosurgery, and high- and low-dose brachytherapy services.
