In late April 2011 Sichuan Hot Pot comes to Arlington with the opening of Mala Tang in Virginia Square. Owner and Sichuan Master Chef Liu Chaosheng, known for his fiery culinary style featuring the famous Sichuan pepper, will oversee the kitchen and menu. The new venue, located near the Arlington Campus of George Mason University (3434 Washington Boulevard; Virginia Square Metro), is a contemporary Chinese setting emulating Chef Liu’s native city of Chengdu – famous for its varieties of spicy street food and numerous hot pot eateries.
