HistoryJohn Asa, Joe, and David Hertzler incorporated Hertzler Brothers in 1959. They brought to the company their own strengths. -John Asa had worked for builder and developer, L. B. Weber. -David had worked on construction crews and, at 16 years old, he had been made a supervisor. -They began building homes in Shore Park in Newport News, then they started building custom homes. -In the 1970s, David built solar homes in Kristiansand and Seasons Trace. -Amy has worked for different builders in the area; she has been working with clients and drawing house plans since the early 80s. -In the 1990s, David organized Smart Home meetings, to get the information to the public about wiring homes to be prepared for the future. Hertzler Brothers has always been ahead of its time, bringing new ideas to the building business, and we still are. -Amy is a certified renovator for the EPA's Renovation, Repair, and Painting Rule, for homes built before 1978.SpecialtiesWe build quality homes of any size. We have been building single-family homes since 1959. We began building solar homes in the 1970s. We also enjoy building additions, renovating homes, as well as doing repairs. We are an EPA certified firm and have a certified renovator on staff, for homes built before 1978.
