Our home daycare's program model was initially inspired by Montessori teaching principles - a method originated by Dr. Maria Montessori in the first half of the 20th century. It was her belief that the goal of early childhood education should be to cultivate the child's own natural desire to learn. It is believed that this approach to education would best enable children to develop their learning abilities, independence, and initiative, and stimulate within the child a genuine love of learning. Cornerstones of the program's philosophy include: a fully prepared learning environment; promotion of appropriate social interactions; and clear ground rules that encourage children to respect themselves, others and the environment.
