Iridium Satellite is a provider of worldwide mobile satellite voice and data solutions. With complete coverage of the Earth s oceans, airways and Polar Regions, Iridium delivers essential services to users who need communications access to and from remote areas where no other form of communication is available. The Iridium constellation of 66 low-earth orbiting, cross-linked satellites operate as a meshed network. It is one of the largest commercial satellite constellations in the world. The Iridium service is suited for industries such as maritime, aviation, government/military, emergency/humanitarian services, mining, forestry, oil and gas, heavy equipment, transportation and utilities. Iridium Satellite has operations in Leesburg, Va., where the Satellite Network Operations Center is located, and gateway facilities in Tempe, Ariz., and Oahu, Hawaii.
