The Virginia Health Quality Center, also known as VHQC, is the Medicare Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) for Virginia. Operational since 1984, it is a nonprofit organization that serves clients in the public and private sectors. The organization offers health education classes that focus on topics related to clinical changes and coalition-based health awareness campaign goals. The Virginia Health Quality Center serves health care professionals in nursing homes and hospitals. It has partnerships with the American Heart Association, West Virginia Primary Care Association, and Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association. The organization offers evidence-based research and strategic planning services. Its clients include the Trans-Atlantic Renal Council and the Maryland Insurance Administration. The Virginia Health Quality Center is a recipient of the U.S. Senate Productivity and Quality Award for progress in performance excellence.
