First Command Financial Advisor - Kurt Langenwalter
Kurt Langenwalter joined First Command Financial Services as a Financial Advisor in October 2002, following a 25-year career in the United States Army. There, he attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and served in assignments from Alaska to Europe with notable positions that include deputy commander of an army community and deputy inspector general serving the secretary of the U.S. Army. Kurt earned a Bachelor's degree from Virginia Tech and a Master's degree in Business Administration from Brenau University. He is a Certified Financial Planner™, Chartered Financial Consultant & Retirement Management Analyst, and member of the Financial Planning Association, Financial Services Institute, Investment and Wealth Institute and the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. He holds Series 6, 63 and 65 securities licenses plus state life, health, long-term care and property and casualty insurance licenses. Kurt advocates time-tested financial principles, including disciplined, long-term saving and investing, careful debt management, and a thoughtful insurance strategy to manage financial risk. Through a values-centered approach to financial planning and a client-first philosophy, Kurt is committed to helping his clients plan confidently for the future and to accompanying them on their financial journey. Married to a retired federal employee, and trained on federal benefit planning, Kurt enjoys helping federal employees integrate their federal benefits into a solid comprehensive financial plan. He is a member of the Annandale Chamber of Commerce, Business Networking International, and the Alexandria-Washington Masonic Lodge No. 22. Kurt enjoys volunteering for charity organizations, RVing with an Airstream Trailer, skiing, scuba diving, hiking, and spending time with his son, United States Army Major Caley Langenwalter, and his wife, Retired United States Army Colonel Corey Langenwalter.
