The Catholic War Veterans of the United States was founded in 1935 and chartered by Congress in 1984. It serves to aid war veterans. It is not a part of the Catholic Church, but the organization is made up of veterans and citizens who practice Catholicism.

Knights of Columbus

Knights of Columbus members give back to their communities by providing donations, medical assistance, intellectual fellowship and more. The Fairfax chapter is based at Saint Leo the Great Catholic Church on Old Lee Highway. Members also help with community-church religious events and fundraisers.

Sparrows Nest Ministries

The Sparrow's Nest Ministries is a nonprofit organization that focuses on "bringing children from at-risk to at-home." It is a safe residential community that supports the needs of, and cares for, the abused, abandoned and neglected children of Prince George's County. The Sparrow's Nest also provides these children with mentoring programs including educational tutoring, computer training and lots of fun activities.
