Capitol Steps, established in 1981, is a troupe of congressional staffers turned songwriters that performs music and political satire. Its performers have worked in more than 15 congressional offices, and represent over 60 years collective experience serving as house and senate staff. Since inception, the group has recorded more than 25 albums, including Addicted to Oil, Super Zealous Radicals, Guantanamo, School Life Rhapsody and If I Were a Real Mensch. The group's satiric works have been featured on NBC, CBS, ABC and PBS television channels, and national public radio stations throughout the United States. Capitol Steps is based in Alexandria, Va.
