History
My name is Hannah Williams (she/her). In 2018 I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Intermingled with overwhelming love and joy I also experienced unexpected stages of anxiety, depression, depletion and exhaustion. After climbing out of the postpartum fog I found my true passion: to help new families during their transition into parenthood. My philosophy is fairly simple: There are a handful of evidence based facts that pertain to newborn health and safety that should be followed. After that there is a lot of room for parents to find what works best for the entire family. I believe in flexible rituals and good sleep hygiene for the entire family. I believe the 4th trimester should be dedicated to recovery, bonding, sleep, replenishing, learning how to cope and truly relax. As of September 20th, 2021 I am a certified through DONA International!
Specialties
I (Hannah Williams) am a certified postpartum doula and postpartum chef who also offers additional services of Ayurvedic massage and herbal sitz baths. As a postpartum doula I support families as they welcome their newborns into their homes. I offer lactation education, newborn care education, lying in and postpartum planning prenatally. I provide lactation support, sleep support, hands on newborn care support, and emotional support for the first 3 months of the babies life. Also known as the 4th Trimester. As a postpartum chef I offer weekly meal preparation focused on optimal nutrition for the birthing person or mother. These meals focus on healthy fats and galactogogues for recovery and lactation. As an additional service I offer Ayurvedic Abhyanga massage. This is a full body gentle massage with warm oil which promotes circulation, lymph drainage and relaxation. This type of massage is amazing for a postpartum body. It increases circulation and lymph drainage to help the body eliminate excess substances from the pregnancy and birth. It encourages production of the relaxation hormones for optimal lactation and sleep. Herbal stiz baths help the postpartum body heal and can alleviate pain and discomfort in the first few weeks after birth.
