History
I was a work-all-the-time perfectionist youth worker whose high stress juggling-too-many-balls lifestyle left me feeling disconnected from my body, anxious and sick. Bad news. Despite all my brilliant thinking, what really helped me start to heal, both from the career I had pursued for so long as well as earlier unhealed trauma, was learning to listen to my body, finding ways to actually let big feelings move through me and practicing changing my patterns of action to line up with what I really wanted in my life. I started Wise Body in 2012 because I was excited about helping people access effective ways to actually change their lives. Changing things in your life means practicing something new. Why not give yourself or your relationship that gift of time to identify and practice those new patterns? Why not begin to really heal? What are you waiting for?
Specialties
*NOTE: I am currently only seeing REMOTE clients, both couples and individuals via video or phone.* My somatic approach is different from other therapeutic practitioners in that I use talk, interactive movement-based activities, and bodywork. I work with the ways trauma changes your life-everything from years of childhood abuse to a car accident to a life threatening disease. I also help people unlearn old, bad habits and to gain new skills. One thing that science has discovered recently is that trauma and habits live in your physical body, which means just talking about it often won't provide you with the practical skills to change your life, your relationships, your career, etc.
