Long regarded as one of Vermont's finest restaurants, The Prince & The Pauper now celebrates its 25th year of excellence under the ownership of chef Chris Balcer and general manager Vincent Talento. Over the years, our mission has remained the same: gather the finest seasonal ingredients, from local producers whenever possible, and prepare them with an artistic flair, maximizing both freshness and flavor. To satisfy all appetites, we offer two menus. The Prix Fixe Dinner Menu changes nightly and is inspired by flavors from around the globe. Our Bistro Menu offers an eclectic selection of lighter fare, and both menus provide outstanding value and the same culinary excellence! In addition to superb cuisine, The Prince & The Pauper has long been recognized for its unequaled service staff, who consistently go the extra mile, providing warm and knowledgeable service to you our guest. The Prince & The Pauper offers a wide choice of fine spirits and an award winning wine list. We also offer a dynamic selection of wines by the glass, handpicked for their distinctive character by our resident sommelier. Both lists offer selections that pair perfectly with our current cuisine. Considering a celebration or an event? We would be delighted to help you create the perfect affair, be it a rehearsal dinner, anniversary party or business gathering. Wedding receptions are a specialty, indoors or out. We offer indoor seating for up to 75 guests, and can accommodate parties of up to 150 guests on the manicured lawn behind the restaurant. Relax and dine amid colorful gardens, overlooking the picturesque Ottaquechee River. We invite you to join us for a memorable evening. Our lounge opens for cocktails or a glass of wine at 5: 00 p.m. and dinner is served every evening beginning at 6: 00 p.m. You'll find us in the heart of Woodstock Village, next to The Woodstock Historical Society ( click here for directions ).
