Southeastern Vermont Economic Development Strategies (SeVEDS) is a non-profit organization affiliated with the Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation. Established in 2007, SeVEDS initially focused on improving broadband and cell service in the region but soon realized the need for economic development. With the assistance of professional partners and government agencies, SeVEDS has developed long-term strategies and goals to promote growth and prosperity in the regional economy.
SeVEDS aims to be recognized as a model for rural economic development in the United States. Their comprehensive economic development strategies, such as the 2014 Windham Region S.M.A.R.T. CEDS and the recently accepted 2019 Southern Vermont Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy, have received national and international recognition. By collaborating with stakeholders and addressing the economic challenges faced by the Southern Vermont Economy Zone, SeVEDS strives to foster a thriving and resilient regional economy.
