History
Hal Rindlisbacher, a popular local band director, founded Riverton Music when he converted an old chicken coop into a band instrument repair shop. At first, Hal kept busy repairing instruments for students and friends, but soon customers were coming from all over the valley to visit the man who was known for his excellent workmanship and honesty. When customers began asking for his advice on purchasing instruments and supplies, the retail side of Riverton Music was born. In 1978, a 2400 square foot building was constructed to house the growing retail business. Hal continued his successful band program at Kearns High School during the day and opened for business after school and on weekends. In 1980 Hal went full time with his growing company. Hal's oldest son, Kevin, joined the company in 1983, growing it into its current prominence, with three stores in Utah.
