History
The year was 1966 to be exact, when the heritage began. Kirk Nielson, R.Ph. moved to San Juan County following a tragic plane crash that killed the only pharmacist in the rural town of Blanding, Utah. Kirk and Maxine Nielson loaded up their seven children and made their home in Blanding, and he became the community's new pharmacist. Eventually Kirk inspired three of his sons to also become pharmacists. One of those three sons is Lee Nielson. Lee Nielson, R.Ph. began his first business alongside his father and brother in Monticello, Utah operating the family's second pharmacy. For the next ten years Lee learned how to serve and operate a strong community pharmacy. In 1992 Lee took his skills to a much larger community, Salt Lake City, Utah. Today, he owns and operates The Medicine Center Compounding Pharmacy tucked in on the East bench of Salt Lake City.
