The Division of Child and Family Services works to protect children at risk of abuse, neglect and dependency. It is a part of the Utah Department of Human Services and maintains one of its offices in Vernal, Utah. The division offers adoption services that help obtain permanent homes for children who cannot return to their original homes safely. Its team of social workers provides crisis intervention for children and their families in times of trauma and confusion. The Division of Child and Family Services also offers voluntary foster care placement and in-home services, including protective supervision, counseling and family preservation. It additionally assists young people in transiting from foster care to adult living through a public and private network of support.
