Founded in 1961, Western Hills Elementary is an educational institution that provides learning opportunities for more than 470 students in grades three through five. It offers special education programs for gifted and talented students. The school also operates a parent-teacher association. Western Hills Elementary is recognized by the Texas Education Agency. It is a part of the Fort Worth Independent School District, which enrolls students in elementary, middle and high schools. The district operates transportation, athletics, attendance control, adult education and health services departments. The Fort Worth Independent School District maintains Horizons Alternative School, Metro Opportunity School and Success High School educational facilities.
