Founded in 2000, The Woodlands Preparatory School is a nonsectarian college-preparatory educational institution enrolling more than 200 students in kindergarten through grade 12. The school offers subjects, such as English, mathematics, science, social science, fine arts, and journalism. The Woodlands Preparatory School also provides advanced placement courses. Its 18-acre facility features classrooms equipped with televisions, projectors and tablet personal computers. The facility also features science labs, gymnasiums and lecture halls. The Woodlands Preparatory School additionally has an observatory, soccer field, playground and covered picnic area. Its athletic activities include baseball, basketball, cheerleading, golf, tennis and cross-country. The school operates a theater group and robotics club, as well as offers membership opportunities for students to participate in the National Honor Society and the National Art Society. The Woodlands Preparatory School is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools.
