History
The Forest Club was formed in 1946 by old friends in order to have a club setting in which friends and their children could meet, eat, swim, and play tennis. Because invitation for membership is a matter of friends asking friends to join, the number of members is small and familial by choice.

Situated on more than six wooded acres, deep in the heart of Houston just off Memorial Drive, the Club is a rare gem in the bustling City of Houston. Members and their families continue to enjoy the Club's congenial social atmosphere while utilizing the pool and exercise facilities, playing tennis, and dining on cuisine considered by many to be the best in Houston. The Forest Club's tennis program is widely known throughout Houston. The professional staff is headed by Juan Ayala and includes a well developed youth program serving young children, as well as the high school player competing at the tournament level. The Club sponsors both men and women's teams which participate in all levels of league play. Members also play just for fun on the nine clay and hard surface courts which are in a park-like setting. In addition to swimming and tennis, the Club offers a staffed Fitness Center, a Sports Court available for basketball and volleyball, all levels of bridge for women,
