Thackeray Partners was formed in January of 2005 by Mary Hager and Tony Dona to acquire and invest in a diversified portfolio of real estate investments. Mary and Tony spent 16 and 20 years respectively in the real estate industry prior to Thackeray's formation and were instrumental in the management of a large real estate private equity business. Today, Thackeray employs 21 individuals, 17 of whom are full time real estate professionals. Thackeray Partners' private equity real estate funds target a diversified portfolio of US real estate investments. Fund I began investing in May 2005 and is fully placed. Fund II began making investments in September 2007. Our current emphasis in Fund II is on the acquisition of stabilized multi-family, industrial and retail properties, but we also pursue value-add and development opportunities involving these product types. Fund III will begin making investments most likely in the summer or fall of 2011 and will employ a similar strategy as Fund II. The limited partners of Thackeray's funds consist primarily of university endowments and US family offices. To date, Thackeray has closed or committed to transactions totaling almost $2 billion, representing equity placements of over $400 million.
