Southern Natural Gas, a subsidiary of El Paso Corporation, transports more than 3 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day during peak periods through 8,000 miles of pipeline within the Southeast region of the United States. The company also owns and operates the Elba Island liquefied natural gas regasification facility in the state of Georgia, with approximately 4 billion cubic feet of storage capacity and over 440 million cubic feet per day of send-out capacity. Its parent company, El Paso Corporation own one of North America s largest interstate natural gas pipeline systems, approximately 42,000 miles long, that transports more than a quarter of the natural gas consumed in the United States each day.
