Sam Rayburn High School is a part of the Pasadena Independent School District, which operates several elementary, middle and high schools. Founded in 1968, Sam Rayburn High School serves students in grades 9 through 12. Its academic curriculum includes various subjects, such as math, science, reading, social studies and language arts. It also provides sessions in world languages, family and consumer sciences, business education and cooperative training. In addition, the school conducts sessions in visual and fine arts and health and physical education. The school offers the English as a second language program. Sam Rayburn High School also offers a variety of sports activities, such as football, volleyball, basketball, soccer, baseball, tennis, softball, golf, cross country, and track and field. Located in Pasadena, Texas, the school operates various student organizations, including the National Honor Society, a student council, choir and cheerleading teams, as well as French, Spanish and art clubs.
