Pecan Deluxe Candy
J.C. Brigham founded Pecan Deluxe Candy Company in 1950. Brigham was in the retail ice cream business. He hired a man to make ice cream and also make candy to put in the ice cream. The company then began selling ice cream flavorings to other companies. J.C. Brigham died in 1965 and his son, Bennie Brigham, began running the company. Bennie Brigham was a food science graduate of Texas Tech University. He expanded the retail ice cream store business to 65 stores before selling the business in order to concentrate on Pecan Deluxe Candy Company. Since Bennie Brigham devoted his full attention to Pecan Deluxe Candy Company, it has become one of the most respected ice cream flavoring suppliers in the United States. The company expanded into the English market with the purchase of the Harriet Websters plant in Yorkshire, England.
