Republic Battery has been family-owned and operated for more than 70 years. The Republic Battery Manufacturing Company was established in 1946 by Charles Koupa. A native of Rosenberg, Texas, Koupa owned several auto part stores before deciding to concentrate on the battery business. Republic Battery was originally a battery manufacturer, serving customers all across Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana. In the mid-1970s, Republic Battery discontinued its manufacturing process and shortened its name to The Republic Battery Company.
