City of Corpus Christi s Parks and Recreation Department supervises and maintains more than 190 parks throughout the city. It offers a wide range of recreational activities for all age groups that include swimming, tennis, golf, martial arts, sports, arts and crafts and seminars on various topics. It also offers special events, such as dances, art exhibits, festivals, cooking demonstrations in Heritage Park and summer concerts in Cole Park. Its Latchkey program provides an organized and supervised after school environment for children. City of Corpus Christi s Parks and Recreation Department provides senior community services programs designed for older adults which include nutrition, recreation, volunteer and social services. It offers a full range of services to local residents, tourists and boaters. It hosts a variety of activities, including fishing, power boat races, boat parades, and fireworks.
