History
The Baylor University Museum was the oldest continuously operating museum in Texas until it's move to the new Sue and Frank Mayborn Natural Science and Cultural History Museum Complex, including the Harry & Anna Jeanes Discovery Center, in 2004. The Mayborn Museum brought together the resources of the Strecker Museum (name of the Baylor University Museum from 1940-2003), the Ollie Mae Moen Discovery Center, and the Gov. Bill & Vara Daniel Historic Village to create an exciting and engaging experience for guests.
Specialties
Designed for visitors of all ages, the Mayborn Museum Complex includes natural and cultural history exhibits focused on Central Texas, an outdoor 1890's Historic Village, and 17 themed discovery rooms.
