History
Began in the Lakewood shopping center in 1976 at 2307 Abrams Rd. First poetry readings here were organized & hosted by local poet Robert Trammell. Moved to 6344 Gaston in 1984 after lost lease. Enlarged this store from 1988-1993 before a fire. Here we hosted some striking art shows with artists Frank Tolbert, jr and the wife & husband team of Judy and Roxy Gordon. After the fire, we temped in the old Shakespeare Books spot (1922 Greenville) which had recently closed until we found a long term home at 6115 La Vista in 1994. Here we had a large living room style community room that hosted countless readings, workshops, meetings, showings, etc. In 2012, we moved to 10801 Garland Road which turned out to be not a very good retail location even though it was pretty and spacious. We just moved again to the NE corner of Casa Linda Plaza in April, 2017 where we hope we will be for a long time. Long time ended up being ~one year and now we have moved once again to 10534 Garland Road.
