History
My husband and I bought Little People's in 1991. He thought we needed a place where I could allow my philosophies to flourish. I had just completed my Master's degree in Education with Early Childhood, and it was the thing to do. Well, the staff thought I was nuts when I came in with all my ideas of children working on their own and creating, measuring, building, pretending, and busy all day long. Twenty years later, I'm still here, still struggling to make ends meet and loving what the children can do on their own. It is very rewarding seeing the children being nurtured and stimulated by the staff. I also try to pay my staff extra for their college education and some of them stick with the classes year after year.
Specialties
We specialize in children-all children. We provide a nurturing and stimulating environment for the children in our care and service a wide population from infants to after school aged children. We have a certified preschool program for fours and have recently added a class of threes to our Texas School Ready program. Our staff is committed to the children in their care to the extent that they attend classes themselves, always getting better in the care they offer. We accept CCS as a Texas Rising Star vendor. Last year we were the center of the year for our community, we are on the Federal Food Program, we have a lovely playground for all our children, and we serve two meals and two snacks a day, including supper. We offer stimulating center-based activities based on established early childhood guidelines.
