History
Karl has been an engineer and trial lawyer for over thirty years. He has mediated more than 2000 cases and arbitrated more than 100 cases in all areas of the law. He has been a patent master, discovery master and technical advisor in more than 40 cases in Federal and Texas state courts. He teaches both U.S and international commercial arbitration at the University of Texas School of Law and has presented more than 50 continuing legal education programs for most Texas law schools, the State Bar of Texas and the American Intellectual Property Lawyers Association. Karl is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, the American Law Institute, the International Academy of Mediators and the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals. He holds a B.A. in electrical engineering from Rice University, an M.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a J.D. from the University of Texas Law School.
