Dr. Arturo Gonzalez received his medical degree from Autonomous University of Guadalajara and completed the medical internship program at Holy Mary Hospital in Guadalajara, Mexico prior to entering the Rural Social Service in San Jose, Mexico. In 2000, Dr. Gonzalez completed the general surgery program at Zaragoza Regional Hospital in Mexico City, Mexico, followed by a fellowship in advanced laparoscopic surgery, and later he completed an internship and residency in general surgery at Methodist Hospital in Houston, TX, where he later served as Chief of General Surgery. Dr. Gonzalez has been honored with the Zaragoza Regional Hospital Award for Distinguished Academic Achievement, the Memorial Hermann Katy Physician of the Year, and a Patient Safety Award. Board-certified in general surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Gonzalez specializes in colon/small bowel resection, colonoscopy, complex hernia repair, antireflux/GERD surgeries, thyroidectomy, gallbladder removal, appendectomy and breast surgeries; he is trained in advanced minimally invasive and robotic-assisted techniques He accepting new patients into his practice; a physician referral is needed.
