Friends of Anna is a nonprofit 501-c3 art empowerment organization. Founded in memory of Anna, a Houston based visual & culinary artist/ retired chiropractor. Our mission is to foster creativity and healing through the arts allowing people with different abilities to discover their hidden creative talents with a supportive network of like minded people that enhances their quality of life. All are welcome! Offer a free, all inclusive place that gives people the opportunities to paint, draw, color, or create any form of visual art. Nature is the ultimate canvas, with a diverse collection of plants giving it color. Through our garden, students will be able to paint various landscapes, learn about texture and work with natural tools in their work, such as wood, dirt, sand, bone and metal. Friends of Anna is making plans to expand to Kilgore, TX ( we have access to land and would like to put a trailer on it to house our projects, as well as obtain chairs & tables for students). start a community garden co-op in Kilgore, TX; to be headed by Kilgore native Mary Shepherd .In an effort to end the pain & isolationism of COVID-19, we'll also have writing/reading groups centered on creativity & public speaking. Friends of Anna students value camaraderie and friendship along with art.
