HistoryThe company was first formed by Lee Wheeler III to create a vehicle to hire an assistant and under the advice of his CPA. KenWheel, Inc., which is the company's legal name (Wheeler Commercial is a DBA), had been a part of Foxworth Real Estate in Beaumont, Texas but mutually ended that partnership in February of 2009 and became Fidelis Commercial Real Estate Services. Less than a year later Wheeler completed a 3-year study and courtship with NAI Global and became NAI Fidelis. The word fidelis is Latin for faithful. Lee spent 10-years in the U.S. Marine Corps, whose motto is Semper Fidelis (Always Faithful). To better reflect the company's ownership, experience and commitment to the local area the name was soon changed to its final representation of Wheeler Commercial.
