History
Evridge Furniture and Appliance was founded by I.G. Evridge in 1952. Born and raised in Brady, Texas, his son Grant Evridge began to work at the family-owned appliance business by the age of thirteen. Grant learned the ropes by delivering and repairing appliances, and eventually worked his way up to management. By the late 1960's, furniture was added to the business. Interestingly enough, furniture makes up for 70% of the business sales today! In May of 1970, Grant graduated from Brady High School and attended Southwest Texas State University in the fall. It was during his attendance that he met his future wife and business partner Nancy Carolyn Davis. Both of them graduated from Southwest Texas State University and were married in 1974. Grant and Nancy had two children. Their son Wyatt took part in the family business and their daughter Bonnie currently works for the TCEQ in Austin, for the Air Quality division.
