History
Owned and operated by the restaurateurs who pioneered the celebrated Monument Cafe, also in Georgetown, diners can expect the same generous hospitality at El Monumento. Sourcing the freshest ingredients available, El Monumento serves home-style, made-from-scratch Mexican fare. El Monumento's grounds and architecture draw from Mexican traditions, and showcase classic forms and materials, and plants of rural South Texas and Mexico. The majestic 7,700-square-foot restaurant is of modern design and includes four separate dining areas, an open kitchen, an interior courtyard, a terrace overlooking the Blue Hole lagoon, and El Bar, serving hand crafted cocktails in a pavilion with glass walls that overlooks the courtyard.
