East Texas Gulf Coast Regional Trauma Advisory Council (ETGCRTAC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving and organizing trauma care in the East Texas Gulf Coast region. Governed by a Board of Directors elected by its members, ETGCRTAC works towards the development, implementation, and operation of a comprehensive healthcare delivery system, aiming to decrease morbidity and mortality rates for all patients in the region and across the state.
As one of the 22 Regional Advisory Councils (RACs) in Texas, ETGCRTAC is responsible for overseeing the trauma system within the Trauma Service Area-R. Comprised of healthcare entities and concerned citizens, the council collaborates to develop, implement, and monitor a regional emergency medical service trauma system plan, with the vision of achieving a unified, comprehensive, and effective EMS, trauma, and acute care system for a healthy and safe community.
