The Fire Department is a part of the village of Buffalo Grove in Illinois. The department is a full service facility that works to provide fire prevention, public education, inspection and emergency medical services. It also offers technical and dive rescue, hazardous materials response and recovery services. The Fire Department responds to more than 5,000 calls for service annually. It is comprised of over 60 employees. The department maintains a fire investigations unit, water rescue and recovery team and training division. The Fire Department also has a fire prevention bureau that inspects buildings and single-family homes. It administers the Juvenile Fire Setter Intervention program. The department additionally issues open burning permits.
