Bill's Lawn Mower Shop was originally opened in 1966 by Bill Chew, a Stephenville local. Bill had many jobs before he decided to open the shop, each of which led him closer and closer to his dream. In 1953, when Wayne Barham offered to make Bill the manager of the Stephenville Produce Company Mr. Chew had no idea what lie before him. After several years of loyalty to the Stephenville Product Company, Mr. Barham asked Bill to buy into the business and become the co-owner of what would then be called Barham Seed and Supply.Throughout his time at Barham Seed and Supply, Bill began fixing lawn mowers on the side to make extra money for the company, but after a while his mower repair became even more lucrative than the company itself. At this point the partners agreed that it was time to part ways and allow Mr. Chew to open Bill's Lawn Mower Shop in 1966 near the Stephenville town square. The name
