Our Story After returning from the Korean War, William O. Davis Sr. and his brother-in-law, Doug Green, began repairing damaged cars in the Tyler area, and Davis-Green Paint & Body Shop Inc. was born. The business grew but remained small into the late 70’s. At that time, William O. Davis Jr. (Bill) and his wife Barbara, returned to Tyler and purchased the business from the senior Davis and Uncle Doug. Immediately, through hard work, commitment and a dedication to doing things right all the time, the business began a steady growth pattern. In 1982, they constructed a brand new facility on the loop behind Cavender's Boot City. The business continued with steady, and sometimes fast -paced growth including the addition of key employees and the purchase of state-of-the-art equipment. The focus continued on doing it right all the time. Quality repairs, outstanding customer service, and excellent relationships with insurance companies established Davis-Green as the “go-to” shop for collision repair in the Tyler area. As Davis-Green became the premier shop in East Texas, growth continued. In 2001, Bill and Barbara, along with 30+ employees, opened their brand new 37,000 square foot facility and current home on Old Jacksonville Highway just across from Brookshires headquarters. No expense was sparred in constructing a facility capable of providing the highest level of quality repairs to vehicles that were and are advancing in technology at a rapid pace. Additionally, the new facility was planned around giving the customer a first-class experience and providing all employees a facility that would bring out their best. In 2004, Bill and Barbara’s son, Darren, returned from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and moved to the Tyler area with his family to begin learning all aspects of the business and assisting in the day to day operations.
