Community Advancement Network (CAN) is a collaborative partnership of governmental, non-profit, private, and faith-based organizations in Austin, TX. Their mission is to collectively enhance social, health, educational, and economic opportunities in the community by leveraging mutual resources. Led by Executive Director Raul Alvarez, CAN works towards achieving community well-being through initiatives focused on mental health, race equity, youth and education, language access, and more.
With a dedicated team including Program Coordinator Jelina Tunstill and Research Analyst Carlos Soto, CAN facilitates and supports various initiatives and events, while also providing leadership in collaborative efforts related to early childhood education, adult and youth mental health, and workforce development. Through their work, CAN aims to ensure that basic needs are met, individuals achieve their full potential, and the community thrives as a safe, just, and engaged environment.
