Coastal Bend College is a public community college, with more than four campuses in south Texas, including one located in Alice. The Alice center offers academic-transfer courses and technical-vocational programs in accounting, automotive technology, computer information technology, child development, general office management, law enforcement, office automation technology, vocational nursing and welding technology. Its accounting program is designed to qualify students for employment in business and industry as bookkeepers or junior accountants. The college s computer information technology program prepares students for diversified entry-level positions in the computer industry. Coastal Bend College awards associate degrees, Level I certificate of achievement and advanced mastery certificate for its various courses.
