Founded in 1955 by Bessie and Calvin Rawls. Bessie and Calvin started with "a concrete marker in the back of a car delivered to Arkansas for $50." A cemetery employee once asked Calvin if he realized its raining. Calvin told him, "Don't tell the men it's raining, they might stop." Bessie passed away in 2008. If you are looking at monuments in our area, look at the back of it and see if it has a "CENTRAL MONUMENT CO tag. That is someone Bessie and Calvin helped with "one of their final and most important decisions." They worked diligently for 50 years to build the most competitive and service orientated monument company anywhere. Danny Creech, Bessie & Calvin's great nephew, is currently the President and plant manager. Danny's background is Chemistry as a pharmaceutical chemist and AP Chemistry teacher. He was taught by Bessie and Calvin Rawls to always stay on top of cutting edge technology and get there early/leave late. In 2004, Danny presented a bill to the LA House of Representatives to prevent gouging from unjustified cemetery fees. Danny is also serving as the Louisiana-Mississippi Monument Builders Association President 2010-2011. Our company is improving, as well as, improving consumer choice.
