Established in 1874, Catholic Diocese of Brownsville is located in Brownsville, Texas. It offers various social services, including immigration assistance, and counseling to individuals, families and couples seeking change, and a greater understanding of themselves, and of their personal and family difficulties. It also offers emergency assistance to persons and families, including referrals to various agencies for assistance with food and utilities. It also has a jail ministry whose members visit jails, and prepare volunteers to help with the ministries of religious education.
