Boys & Girls Clubs of South Central Texas - Seguin Extension
HistoryOn March 16, 1994, the Willie Mae Mitchell Community Opportunity Center was established as a community-based youth organization. On Nov. 21, 2001, the organization was accepted into the membership of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and was renamed the Boys & Girls Clubs of South Central Texas (BGCSCT). Since its inception, the BGCSCT has proudly served the youth of Caldwell, Comal, Guadalupe and Hays counties. Our Club provides children with a safe place to learn and grow; ongoing relationships with caring, adult professionals; life-enhancing programs and character development experiences; and hope and opportunity for all members. We are a public, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization located in San Marcos, Texas. One of the BGCSCT's most unique features is that it is one of only two clubs in the United States that operates a charter school, Texas Preparatory School, which implements BGC programs and operates according to the BGCSCT mission.SpecialtiesThe Seguin Extension offers an After School Program and Summer Program.
