The Montague County Carpenter's Shop, also known as The Nocona Senior Center, has been serving the elderly and disabled community in Nocona, TX since 1987. With the vision of a Methodist Minister, the center now provides meals to approximately 104 individuals five days a week, relying on sponsorships, donations, grants, and fundraisers to support the majority of its recipients.
Despite only receiving government reimbursement for a fraction of the cost, the center continues to nourish the minds, bodies, and spirits of its seniors through various activities and services, including bridge, bingo, exercise classes, health screenings, and holiday gatherings. Additionally, the center goes above and beyond by delivering pet food to recipients with furry companions, recognizing the positive impact pets have on the well-being of seniors. As an integral part of the community, The Nocona Senior Center remains dedicated to its mission of nurturing all seniors in Nocona.
