The Capital Area Council of Governments (CAPCOG) is a regional organization that has been advocating for and coordinating important issues in the Austin-Round Rock-Georgetown Metropolitan Statistical Area for over 50 years. With over 90 member governments and organizations, CAPCOG facilitates collaboration and eliminates duplication in areas such as emergency communications, elderly assistance, law enforcement training, solid waste reduction, and economic development.
Committed to strengthening the ten-county region of Central Texas, CAPCOG supports urban and rural local governments through coordination, collaboration, and resource sharing. As one of the 24 regions in the state of Texas, CAPCOG works alongside other regional councils and districts to address needs that transcend jurisdictional boundaries and enhance the overall well-being of the community.
